boot problem on htc one after 4.4.2 upgrade

I tried updating to 4.4.2 kitkat on my HTC One. However, in the middle of the update installation, it stopped and hanged forever. The boot up ends with the HTC One logo. Can anyone help me out? I also tried hard reset (using the keys of Volume Down and Power). But to no avail.

Was the phone rooted or i.e tampered with?
