Bootable Honeycomb image with Market

Hi

My nookcolor should be here tomorrow

I am pretty keen on keeping the stock nookcolor rom but trying out Honeycomb by burning it onto a microsd card.

So far the only microsd bootable version of Honeycomb seems to be v4 by deeper-blue which does not have market in it. The 2nd edition of Honeycomb v4 with market seems to be only flashable to the eMMC.

Am I correct or is there an image somewhere for a microsd bootable version of Honeycomb with market on it somewhere?

If so, is ADB the only way of getting market onto it?

To the best of my knowledge i dont think there is a bootable copy with market on it. I seem to recall reading something about it is a grey area. So for now it will be ADB which is not all that hard if you read the instructions and follow to the "T".
The sticky on HC to sd should answer most of your questions.

Unless you can get someone to zip up an image from when they loaded the market, you'll have to do it yourself. It really should only take a few minutes (if that) if you've already gotten the image flashed onto the sd card.

Knowing what I know now, I would go ahead and do the following:
1) Burn the HC image to the SD card
2) D/L and install the full ADB/driver pack : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910008
3) Get a backup SD card in case the Transcend card doesn't work

if you can read adb isn't that hard (it's harder to get it to see your device than it is to use)

my issue with the market on honeycomb is a lot of the apps i used on a regular basis were not even in the market at all. surely with the aosp release of honeycomb this will be fixed but that's what's steered me away from HC at this point.

thank you for your howtos btw (as a resident howto maker for my work i appreciate your work)

i played around with adbwireless last night and it was a lot easier to use that than to monkey around for 30 minutes trying to get the usb to work.

check the Froyo Workaround thread, I messed with the build.prop file (always make backups) and could see a few more apps in the market.

What everyone fails to mention is that this is for windows only. As far as i know nobod has gotten he nook with froyo or honeycomb to be recognized by a mac. Took me hours to discover that even though directions are posted everywhere for macs. Directions only work if the machine sees your device. When i finaaly got a windows machine i could use, it still took forever to get a driver to work that recognized my nook. Now that it works, if i made a copy of the file and posted it, what consquences could I face?

Would changing the fingerprint in sd hc like i did in nookie froyo get more apps in the market. I really like thr honeycomb OS soooooooo much better, but not having mlb at bat on thr market is a deal breker for now. The fingerprint tip in nookie froyo got it too show up in froyo. Would love to know if it works for hc as i would change it in a heartbeat.
