Bootloader still locked after 'unlocking'

Hey guys

I have an issue where I tick the option in developer settings (oem unlocking) to unlock bootloader. Later I've checked on my pc if it's unlocked (fastboot getvar all) what I get is
<bootloader> unlocked: no (basically still locked)

Please help.

As far as I know enabling this option in the Developer Options doesn't unlock the bootloader, it only allows you to unlock it manually via some commands that will differ depending on your device. Kind of a security switch, necessary before the proper manual unlock.

That's step one. Step two would be to reboot into the bootloader and use the ADB command fastboot flashing unlock.

Now this may not work for all OEMs.
