I've had my phone since launch day. I woke up Thursday morning to my phone's alarm. I shut the alarm off and leave it on my desk, still plugged in and fully charged, then I go about my day. A few hours later, I go to my phone and it turned itself off. I try to press the power button to turn it on, but it doesn't.
I then went into a crazy panic to try and fix it, searching for solutions online and trying everything to no avail:
- leaving the battery out for X amount of time
- leaving the battery and sim card out for X amount of time
- plugging into computer with and without battery
- pressing the power button and holding it too
- pressing the power button plus the down and up buttons and different combinations
- plugging it in without the battery to a wall charger
- plugging it in to different wall chargers
- plugging it in overnight
- using three different batteries
- etc
anyways, my point is that I'm about to give up and I need to know my options. my phone's bootloader is unlocked but I didn't install a custom rom. I hear that unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty, but I wonder if they will notice. I do not have insurance, but my sister does on her own account and we were wondering if we should swap phones and make a claim.
should I go to a Verizon store or should I call Samsung or use my sister's insurance? which one is fastest?
