Bought a note 8 onlocked online and my moble data wont work

I bought a note 8 and it calls and texts but the moble data wont work the internet workes connected to Wi-Fi my carrier is att

Perhaps it does not support the right radio bands? Check the device version in Settings, About Phone.

Did you set up the apn?

Also where did you buy it from and which variant did you get?

I assume it's a US version unlocked? I have one that I got from Best buy no issues on ATT on all bands. Definitely make sure the APN is correct but I never had to set anything. if all else fails get a new sim card from ATT.
