So, I purchased the HTC Incredible online from an individual. I can't activate it on my personal account because the MEID is active and from talking with Customer Service -- it's Verizon Employee Account. The phone is working fine (voice, data, etc.).

As of today, I can't get into contact with the person I bought the phone from to deactivate the account. Can I do anything to get this phone active on my personal wireless account? Or, have I been duped?

Thanks for any help!!

If the MEID is blocked or in use, you can't do anything about it other than getting your money back from the seller who sold you something they should not have.

It is the same as selling your a stolen item.

You can contact VZW with an MEID number before the sale to see if it is clear.

any contacts in the phone? Start calling them:

"I found this phone...trying to return it to whoever lost it."

Call Verizon, that simple.

He already did that. Verizon is not going to tell you who owns the phone, only that it is not a clear MEID.

If you found it you can drop it off in any store, but I suspect he wants his money back.

Yeah, I figured as much.

No, there weren't any contacts or previous calls on it when I got it.

Dr. Duct, the phone number is from the Baltimore, MD area. Are you from around there?

So bummed, I was super excited about the phone too :(
