I'm helping my friend install CM7.

So i installed cm7 on my friends phone, but the drivers for the phone weren't installing on my windows 7(64bit) computer. so i went into recovery tried to flash a different rom, but it wouldnt let me, so i tried running a backup(2.2 froyo), it got to the bootloader sequence and then it aborted. I idiotically decided to just click on reboot phone and now its stuck on the Att logo screen. But I can boot into DOWNLOAD MODE, i just cant run odin since my drivers aren't installed.

I can't install the drivers on my computer. I tried the 64 and 32 bit, I tried the drivers from the samsung website, and i also tried the Kies_Mini_For_Captivate. I tried all of these while running cm7 and now.

Is the phone bricked or could it still be saved?

:'( Thanks in advance if anyone could help me.

I know this sounds lame, but try another PC?

At the very least, reboot the PC. Many of those weird problems are ODIN or the phone hanging the USB system on your PC. CM7 has a couple steps where you need to be careful to not lose your 3-button. If you cannot get to download mode, can you get to Recovery?

Make sure you are using the battery pull method to get into Download.

I'm going to try it on a different computer when I get home, I'm going to stop by and get a new usb cable (I tried two already).

I can't get into recovery, it just hangs on the att logo. But I could get into download mode, by taking out battery, sim, and sd card then putting back battery then holding down n up volume and connecting usb cable. The problem is can't install the drivers, and since I don't have the drivers my computer doesn't recognize the phone I can't run odin. It has problems installing the drivers, I've tried manually and different ones.

Sorry if I repeated myself. Thanks.
