my phone is completely bricked
i didnt have any access to the phone for 4 months, when i got the phone back it wouldnt boot just stuck on HTC screen.
i tried at that time to go into the recovery mode and restore it to factory defaults. it worked but the phone crashed 5 minutes into set up and then again wouldnt boot. tried the process again and again to no avail.

now starting the phone up again after not using it for 2 weeks due to being away on holiday the phone boots straight into the bootloader showing:
Software status: Modified
Locked
S-ON
Security Warning

The phone will no longer boot to recovery comes up with "failed to boot to recovery mode"
"this build is for development purposes only"
i have tried using fastboot software on my pc and adb none of these programs recognise the phone "adb devices" shows "list of devices attached" and nothing else
ive searched and searched and now im just fed up im about to try and mount an image onto the sd card and go from there
Im afraid im not very tech minded when it comes to phones OS so not really sure what the heck im doing.

any help would be appreciated

(update) i tried the RUU from htc for my phone and it did recognise the phone but the battery was under 30% so i need to charge it before i can see if this option works
(new update) fully charged it and still receive the same error message about battery being under 30%

What was the battery charge status when the phone went into "storage"?
Storing a low battery may destroy it.

Was the phone rooted? Is this the reason for the "Modified" message?
I had a phone with "Modified" status, couldn't get it to connect with any of the "restore" utilities on my PC. I eventually traded it away.
