I recently tried to install a custom kernel on my HTC one to overclock it. After the installation, it said to reboot, so I did. The boot logo came up, then the screen went dark. The boot logo came up again then forced me into the bootloader. Then near the bottom the screen in bootloader, the message "Active cmdline overflow! (1030 Bytes)" came up. It does this every time I reboot or turn off/on my phone.

I don't know why it did this. I have installed this kernel before(I had recently installed the Google Play Edition ROM/software, witch required a data/factory reset).

I don't know if I have to install a RUU of what?

The custom kernel is elemental x.

Hello,

Sounds like the kernel could be incompatible with the ROM. Has either one been updated since you last ran it?

I would try to obtain a known working stockish kernel and flash that on the device to see if you can get it booting properly again. Otherwise you may indeed have to RUU back to a working state.
