So I know the phone is old. And I know I should have backed it up. And I know I should have expected it to die. And I know it's gone through around 3 batteries.
.............But it died. So, a term I learned today: "Bricked" The phone doesn't turn on under any circumstance. Nothing at this point will help, no button combos, no battery replacements. Went to wonderful *sarcasm* AT&T customer service and they suggested a new battery. Tried, and failed.
I know, and you know, that this is completely dead. So all I want to do now is recover contacts. I'm currently waiting on "Mobiledec Android Data Recovery" since it is scanning. My questions are:
(1) Why are these programs made if the phone actually has to be plugged into the computer via USB? (Because the phone isn't recognized when completely dead.
(2) Does Mobiledec Trial recover the same as a bought program?
(3) Assuming I had some other android phone hanging around, could I put the SD in that phone or do I need another Samsung Note 2? Or does transferring SD cards simply not work?
(4) Are there any other free methods to getting contacts or am I jammed?
