Brightness Boost

I can't see the screen face when I'm outside in the sun. I try putting the brightness boost on but then it shuts off. Am I doing something wrong? the watch is useless for me outside

It only lasts five seconds by design. In case you don't know, you can activate it quickly by clicking the crown (side button) three times.
