Bring back upcoming events always on display?

I've not been a fan of this Oreo update so far. The one thing I'm really missing is the always on display option that showed your next 3 upcoming events from the calendar. Is there anyway to side load this back on or download a custom one to use as a replacement? Here what it looked like for those who may not know. Screenshot_20180618-235505.jpg

Ok and which setting am I enabling?
I don't get paid for this you know. Just trying to help. Are you able to see the screenshot menu on your phone too?

The face widgets setting is not what I'm looking for. I don't want to have to swipe to view upcoming events. I want to see it at a glance just like how it was in Nougat. Is there somewhere one can download new always on display layouts? Or download the old one from Nougat?

Though it shows an option for the schedule along with the other info, it is not functional.

When the always on display is on, you have press twice on on the screen, wait , then swipe to the left to bring the different screens such as next alarm, schedule, etc.

If you read the op, and look at the screenshot, you will see what was viable is not now. Your procedure works to see notifications, as always , as has been discussed, but the actual problem is not what you are recognizing in your post.

Yeah I've figured that out. Unfortunately that's not what I'm looking for. I want it the way it used to be.

Well, I for one have to thank you. I had originally set my AOD to the clock, and left it as was. I liked the upcoming events like you posted, and changed mine around. Thanks! Oh, my S7 is still on Nougat if you're wondering...:)

Same problem here, loved that feature. I wish I can uninstall Oreo, sigh. Anyway, the following is a poor substitute, as I would prefer it on the "always on display", but I ended up downloading the "Calendar Notify" app, which shows your upcoming events on your lock screen. I still wish android/samsung bring this back as a customisation option on the always on display though :(
