Broken screen

My friend rolled over my optimus s with his car. the top half is black, the bottom half is on regular. the whole touch system still works but is spotty, anyone know how much sprint will charge to fix it?

probably best idea is to get a new one.....right now LG Optimus S is free with a renewed contract....best is to call them or go down to one of the Sprint stores and ask how much it would cost you if you were to get a brand new one....be honest with them & tell them your friends car rolled over your ph by accident....no harm in asking...just my 2 cents!

I think if you have TEP it's $100, but I could be wrong - haven't had TEP in awhile.

I've also heard some reports that they'll just swap out the phone for free, depending on the store/who's working there. So I really would run it down to your local sprint store and see what happens. Who knows, it might be free

As for the "free with 2 year contract", I think you actually have to have an eligible upgrade. Otherwise every time a new phone came out, you could just pay the discounted price and say you'll extend your contract. Since the Optimus is so new, the only way you could have one and an eligible upgrade, you'd need to have bought it outright from Sprint. Even with the 1 year upgrade plan, I just don't think it's been out long enough for anyone to have had one for a year.

I just had my Optimus S replaced through TEP and it was $50, not $100.

If you feel up to it, you can get new screens on ebay for ~$35, and this thread has instructions on how to get at it.
