I have all along been so reluctant to change the default browser... Is the dolphin a better option or is there a better one? Thanks.

I switched to Dolphin when I got my GS Note and have to say it's hands-down the best browser I've ever used and I don't even use half of what is offered (i.e. gestures, web-clipping, etc.). Simply from a web browsing standpoint, Dolphin's tabs at the top of the screen let you easily switch from one site to another without losing your place on the first one. It's got a one-button option to kill all unnecessary programs that may slow down your phone's speed to help you browse even faster if you want it. They offer a boat-load of customization options like different colors and even an option to change the look of your browser by shaking your device (though, that's a bit much for me). The main reasons I love Dolphin as my browser is every page loads extremely fast, the tabs make multiple-site searches easy, and their bookmarks and SpeedDial buttons make going to your favorite sites as easy as hitting one button from their home screen. If you haven't already, you gotta give Dolphin a try for a few days - trust me, you'll never go back to the old browser again.

I happily switched to Chrome as my default browser. dont miss flash at all.

I like the bookmark syncing from chrome desktop, other device tab syncing and Chrome to mobile feature.

This may not be what a lot of people want as their default browser, but just to add an alternative, IF speed and data usage (and battery use) are someone's primary concerns, Opera Mini cannot be beat. Now it does not support flash or html5 but it uses 90% less bandwidth and is very fast compared to other browsers. This also saves on battery use. If you have unlimited data and don't mind waiting longer for pages to load in order to get the full desktop experience and view video, etc, you would not want this as your default.

I use it as my default because I spend so much time in the browser that the speed and the battery savings is worth it to me. Then on the few occasions a page has content I can't view, I switch to another browser just for that. So it depends what you mainly use your browser for and how much you use it whether you'd want to consider Opera Mini. Most people want all the bells and whistles so wouldn't use this as a default, but just putting this out there for people who may have similar priorities to me.

Edit: Just editing to mention that Opera Mini is not the same as Opera Mobile. "Mobile" is the full version, supports flash, etc and does not have the benefits I mentioned of "Mini."

I like Chrome a lot. It runs pretty seamlessly in Jelly Bean. The absence of Flash hasn't really bothered me much yet. Actually, if Flash would just hurry up and die in a fire, the world would be a much better place. :-)

I used Dolphin when I had my Evo 3D and it was great but since I've been using my GNex I've been using the stock browser. I tried to commit to Chrome but I always ended up using stock.

What's wrong with the stock browser. I feel like it does everything that I need it to do.

nothing wrong with the default browser but the default browser only get updated when Android get updated.

Chrome get updated with additional features every 2 months. also there are addition features like chrome other device tab sync which i enjoy.

By the way, I thought the new Jelly Bean update was supposed to replace the stock browser with Chrome.

No, that was never supposed to happen. The Nexus 7 has Chrome as stock browser, not the Galaxy Nexus.

I thought I saw it on the Nexus website though.

No, that would have been a disaster to replace the stock browser on an existing device with Chrome. Like I said, you were probably mistakenly thinking of the Nexus 7 instead of the GNex. Future devices will have have Chrome as default post Jelly Bean. The Nexus 7 was a new device that shipped with Jelly Bean and did not have a previous browser to replace or an OS to upgrade so it shipped with Chrome. The Gnex was already existing and was never intended to have Chrome as default.

I see it says browse "Chrome fast" along with the "speed and simplicity" of Chrome, yet it does not say using Chrome.

I vote Chrome too, mostly because that's my main browser on my desktop as well. Having everything synched (bookmarks, etc) is pretty cool. Plus if you're using chrome on a desktop, right click on a tab, select "send to phone" and that tab will be open and waiting when you grab your phone. Pretty slick

I've tried Firefox, Dolphin, and Opera (both Mini and Mobile versions). I keep Firefox around but rarely use it. Chrome is my main browser, the stock browser is my backup. If I NEED to see something that those 2 can't open, then it just waits til I get to a computer.

(random side note. I've become so used to double tapping the spacebar to get a period, now that I'm using a laptop I do the same thing and get irritated when I double tap space and don't get the period like I'm expecting. Must need more coffee....)
