browser performance.......shocked

The phones are on the same network The galaxy s2 was most likely hogging bandwidth.

Very true. And those Exynos chips are dual cores finest.

Yeah. I can't remember where I saw it, but on another website they pinned the entire difference on the use of Mali for rendering. Without that GPU doing that, they would be about the same.

It looks like T Mobile USA passed on the GS2 unfortunately. I am extremely upset with their choice and considering jumping ship for this phone.

Nah, everyone will get it just like they did with the original.
Remember TMO got the 1st 4G Galaxy S but not the 1st 3G one.

;)

I WANT to believe. I really want the GS2 over the Sensation. I thought it was a dumb move on TMo's part for passing on the next iteration of one of their best selling Android phones.

My guess is that they didnt pass on anything but the 3G one,
and are waiting on the (hopefully 42mbps) HSPA+ 4G one.

If you lurk on Craigslist you can pick up a Sensation for cheap.
About 3 or 4 weeks after release they'll start showing up real cheap
but usually the first contact buys them, so you got to lurk.

I bought a G2X for $260 about 3 weeks after release.
I was bored on a saturday afternoon lurking on C/L.

I'll hopefully get a Sensation the same way, and the next one released.....

I dont mind paying half retail.

;)

Qualcomm says that both cores are being used when browsing websites. No mention on whether the GPU is involved. So, what you guys are saying is that the GS2 uses both cores and the gpu to render a website? Sounds like that would drain the battery in a hurry. I have watched quite a few other videos where browsing performance was tested, and in many of the tests it was almost too close to call or the Sensation even won. Also, when he complains about that the Sensation isn't scrolling smooth or fast enough, I have seen videos where it does it just as fast as the GS2. Either way, the difference in performance is negligible and you get to see more of your website on the Sensation due to its higher resolution. In my opinion, all you get with the GS2 is black blacks, more cartoony extra bright colors, a better viewing angle (that matters with a TV much more than with a phone, since as the holder of the phone you always have the best seat in the house), and higher benchmark scores. Real world performance of the browser on a mobile network will vary greatly, and if one phone displays a website 2 seconds faster than the other one...well, I am not going to loose any sleep over it.

The SAMOLED+ is supposed to be much better for outdoor viewing as well. I am leaning that way because I really like the way my wife's Vibrant screen looks indoors and out. The Sensation is a close 2nd in my book, both are great phones.

Reason says GSII, but damn, I hate the Samsung experience internally and externally. So unfriendly, square and boring.
I wish the Sensation had AMOLED. I love everything about my Nexus One so much, but want more screen room for more comfortable reading. uhhgg.... :-\
What other 4.3" devices am I missing? (Must be GSM based)

yeah it definitely is a plus with the AMOLED screen, but then again.do u really want whoever is within 5 feet of you seeing EXACTLY what your doing, viewing on ur phone crystal clearly lol? dont get me wrong the display on the Gs2 looks REDICULOUS,but i cant wait for a release date, think imgoing with the sensation....thats just my 2 (HTC) SENSE;)

That's actually sorta funny because I was the opposite. I loved everything about the Nexus One EXCEPT the screen. It was just so...bad. Poor quality, poor color reproduction, and poor performance. I couldn't run fast enough from it.

meh..its a Samsung phone..im not a fan personally..keyboards are too narrow for easy typing..they "wow" us with bright screens..meh..though I research virtually EVERYTHING...seems like the norm is going towards 4.3" screens anyways..might sound like much..but also keep in mind widescreen views help more on a bigger screen
