Browser plays low quality youtube videos

Browser plays LOW Quality YouTube videos ONLY. PLEASE HELP FIX.

when i click on a youtube video that is on a website, the "htc flash player" automatically starts playing the video in low choppy quality. If anyone knows how to force the native browser on the EVO to play the youtube links with the youtube app or at least let me choose which app opens the link, please reply.

i already checked and the "htc flash player" does not have the option to clear defaults.

tried it with wifi and its the same as with 3g...i have tested this on 2 EVO's and on an incredible and the same low quality "htc flash player" plays the embedded youtube video by force without giving an option.

Possible Fix:

Menu-->Settings-->Applications-->HTC Flash Player-->Clear Defaults
Menu-->Settings-->Applications-->Youtube-->Clear Defaults
Next time it should ask you which app you want to open the youtube video in... obviously tap 'Youtube' and make it default.

Nothing in the settings worked. I emailed HTC yesterday about the very same problem. WiFi, 3/4g, its all poor quality but u can still watch it but it skips and looks like crap. I also emailed them about why when I go to sites that have a upload button and it says Upload Disabled in the uploaded button. I even tried the FireFox browser, I think that's the browser. I'm still waiting on a email from them. So as soon as I hear from them I will let you guys know what's up. I mean, the older iphones built in video player looks better in comparison to out high tech Evos then something is wrong and a fix better be on its way. When you click on a video, it shows YouTube in the right corner before it starts playing. If they can make the Evos YouTube player look great, with and without the HQ enabled then they can do something about there built in player.

That's a limitation of Android 2.1 and older.

Froyo (Android 2.2) is supposed to allow the uploading of files through the browser.

Oh its the limitation in 2.1 well that sucks. I thought the Evo had a revamped Android software due to its nice hardware. Well to be real, I have never had an Android phone before and up until February of this year I just started researching about the Android OS. I feel its the best OS out of all the others. I can do so much customizing with out limits. But I'm always reading everyday about Android and I rind it getting better and better with updates.

Oh, are you talking about Flash or Youtube?
Cause otherwise you're playing Flash videos with Flash Lite... which is pretty choppy vs. the Flash coming in 2.2, which is smoother.

Oh its the flash lite player, ok I see. I didn't know that tube flash lite was also the player. Thank you for clearing that up. Now it makes me want Froyo 2.2 even more, lol can't wait for it.
