Browser's a little slow

I use Chrome browser and have also downloaded Firefox browser for viewing Flash content. I find that browsing the net can be quite slow, particularly on 3g. Is there anything i can do to speed it up?

It's funny how what was considered blazing fast a few years ago can seem so slow now! It's true, compared with 4G LTE, 3G is just plain slow. You could try Opera Mini (not Opera Mobile), which can speed things up a bit, because the Opera servers compress the webpages before sending them, resulting in somewhat faster load times.

enable SPDY in chrome it will be 52% faster

Wow, that sounds good! I'd never heard of SPDY. How do you enable it on the Nexus 7?

In Chrome, browse to chrome://flags - the flag is enabled through there.

The link says to enable 'data protection proxy' - I can't see that anywhere. It does say 'enable SPDY/3 - is that the right one?

Has anybody had any problems after enabling SPDY? The scary disclaimer at the top of the page is making me think twice about enabling this.

I haven't had any issues after enabling SPDY and if you do, you can just go back in and disable it.
