BT headset issue with Google Voice Search

This is not specific to the Maxx HD. I had the same issue with my GS3.

When I have my BT headset connected and attempt to use Google Voice Search to look up something, send a text, etc, my voice is only picked up on the phone mic. It is not routed to my headset mic. I have my headset set up as a phone only on it's profile, which could be the issue, but the media profile wouldn't have mic capability, at least in my mind. This was not an issue with my iPhone 4S using Siri.

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on how to use the headset mic when using voice search? This is mainly important to me while driving. I usually leave my phone in a cradle and the mic cannot pick up my voice with the road noise. I can see this being a bigger concern with our impending update to 4.1 and Google Now.

It might be relate to whether your headset has the stereo a2dp profile. If not, GV uses the next available standard audio profile available. Having an a2dp capable bluetooth headset means all sounds can be streamed and not just phone profiled sound.
