Buffering with my Note 8 and VLC or Kodi

Anybody else have issues with VLC or kodi buffering all the time. I can play the same files at the same time with My Note 8 and my Note 4 beside each other and the 4 plays without the buffering the 8 buffers through out. I've checked my connection and the speed is fine. I can watch directv or youtube without issues beside the directv app crashing all the time. Any ideas?

Try using MX Player on the Note 8 and see if that helps.

To clear thing up a little I'm streaming from my NAS or PC. I'm not sure how to do that with MX Player.
