Bug or virus or hacker

I m having a wiered problem in my Redmi note 5 pro. Some randomly generated alphabetical string is automatically getting copied. I had tried clearing clipboard, but then a different string get copied after sometime.

Not sure at this point , but I would suggest factory reset but back up everything .

It seems unlikely that it's a virus or a hack -- what would the goal be? I would guess it's a bug. I agree with trying a factory reset.
