Buggy homesceen transitions with stock launcher

Hi. I decided to use the stock launcher after deleting Nova Prime from my phone and I'm digging it.
However, I've noticed that the transitions between the three home screens will sometimes be completely flat, and other times it will have a nice animation touch where the screens transition on top of one another as they switch. It keeps going between the two for no apparent reason.
Here's a couple screenshots to show the nice overlapping and when it just decides to move to next screen without overlap animation. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks!
