Buggy "messaging" app after lollipop update

Is anyone else having issues with the stock Samsung messaging app after the lollipop update? It's extremely slow and laggy whenever I try to post a group message... Also, the entire time I'm in the app, the "circle swirl" thing is constantly spinning.

The only issue I was having with messaging was that it is hideous now. So much so that I had to switch to Hangouts, which I'm not too happy about it either. I just don't like the interface, nor with third party messaging apps (they always seem to screw up my connection and APN settings. ChompSMS is probably my favorite interface-wise, but that is the one that always gives my APN settings a problem. I just can't win. So 'Messages' was bland and plain, but it worked for me. Dang you, Samsung!
