I had ICS AOKP and am now using BB JB. BB runs great with very little problems and pretty good battery life. I know BB is meant to just run well without all sorts of bells and whistles, but I do miss some of the features and tweaks with AOKP though. Has anyone tried both of them for JB and do you have any sage words of comparison for them? Battery life, etc...

I recommend trying Affinity. It is a great middle ground. It's highly stable, decent battery life and a nice amount of customizations.

I prefer BB, think battery life, speed and stability are better. AKOP has just seemed to have gotten too big, seems slower lately.

I have been using JB AOKP for months (always with the newest stable builds), but I decided to try JB Bugless Beast a week ago. Battery life has never been better. Sure there are fewer customizations, but I would rather have stability and speed. BB is almost bugless. There are a few crashes here and there, but they are very rare. With AOKP, I seemed to run into some of problems when switching applications and when pressing the home button. AOKP was much improved after the switch from ICS to Jelly Bean, but it was no match for BB. Both ROMs are excellent, but I prefer the better battery life of BB over the customizations of AOKP.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess I'll stick with BB. Much as I'd like the customizations or AOKP, I'll take the longer battery life and speed.

That's easier said than done. Its not a big deal if I can dirty flash them, but if I have to wipe the phone and reset it up its a big pain.

Nope, pretty easily done and said. It takes 30 minutes or less to setup from factory reset. Use TiBU and a launcher that let's you save your layout ie. Nova and if your not happy a nandroid takes about a minute to restore.
