Hi all,

2 weeks almost up (BestBuy) for return or keep tomorrow 7/27.

I've noticed that on one edge it seems the backing creaks/moves slightly. Anyone else notice this issue?

I'm pondering returning and hunting down something with the $100 coupon from staples or hop back on the fence and wait till holiday season and see what's out there.

Experience is pretty good so far. Lack of accessories is frustrating; I did find the 10.1" Swiss-gear sleeve as mentioned in other threads.

Mine is very solid so far. No issues with it other than lack of accessories like you stated.

I swapped my Toshiba Thrive for the Transformer + dock yesterday morning. Best decision I've made. I don't see any issues with build quality. If you return your Tranformer, maybe just exchange it for another one with a newer serial number?

I set up my apps throughout the day yesterday while charging; then, I charged it all night. I've been using this thing for almost 2 hours 45 minutes this morning, and the battery is still at 100%. Awesome. Best of all today, I haven't even needed to boot up my laptop. I've been able to pay bills online, email my clients, surf the Web . . . the usual. This Dolphin browser is proving itself to be a solid stand-in until Firefox gets their mobile browser up speed.

appreciate the feedback. i'm gonna visit tonight and might just swap for another unit and see how it compares

I have been very happy with mine, but my dock just died. It is on its way back to Asus now, so we will see how this goes....

I love mine too, and love the battery life, but have to say, something isn't reading right if your battery is still at 100% after 3 hours of use

Just curious . . . do you know what the serial number was? Did it start with B4? B5? B6?

I specifically asked for a B6 based on a thread here regarding earlier versions of the dock.

I don't know yet . . . the thing was plugged in a long time. And, the pad + dock are supposed to get at least 14 hours.

Just checked again. 3 hours 27 minutes -- still 100%. Okay, maybe there's a software bug. hehe

You were using the dock too? Then maybe, but still sounds off to me. The battery life is good though. I was playing around for about 5 hours last night after bringing it home and was down around 50%.

Yes, I'm using the dock + pad. If I see anything weird with the time & battery level, I'll post up.

To the OP, let us know how things go with the new Transformer. Hope it works out

The interaction between the dock and pad to me is pretty awesome. From what it appears, the dock "feeds" the tab until it's depleted. I have one for about a week ($100 off deal) and during the weekend I used it extensively and with a full chg on the dock and tab I believe I got a good 20 hours of off and on use. No creaks, light leaks or any of that other stuff I've heard. I don't have a problem with lack of accessories...what do we need? No need for a BT keyboard, no need for a stand, no real need for a sleeve if it's docked and folded...so far this is quite a nice piece of equipment. My only complaint is on some java intensive sites, the stock browser is pretty laggy.

Edit: BTW I find the dual battery widget (free in the market) is very useful

If you are using the dock and pad then the dock battery is being used until it runs out and them the pad battery will be used. If you're using any of the stock battery indicators, these don't know about the dock battery.

If you want to see tthe dock battery hate you need to get the dial battery widget.
The battery life is fantastic, even despite thw dock battery drain problem on the older docks.
Jon
Edit: so I agree with fldude99 above ;-)

Thank you for the tip about the dual battery widget. Now this makes sense.

Honeycomb was telling me my battery was at 99%. After installing the widget, I see that the pad's battery is at 99% and the dock's battery is at 52%.

Great battery life on such a useful little machine. :)

appreciate the feedback all; I returned to BB and leveraged $100 coupon to land 32GB XOOM wifi from Staples

thx!! initial thoughts on xoom versus TF101; I think the IPS screen on TF101 is nicer; as is the FFC although will have to test some more; initial shots very grainy when tinkering last night. Xoom feels better in hand though

Mine is built pretty well. Granted it pales in comparison to my thinkpads, but for a tablet this price its been great! Zero heat, zero creaking, and zero falling apart. I also take mine out and about and beat on it pretty hard at home and work.

I've got a little creak from the back by the volume rocker. Doesn't really bother me, and if it starts to, I'll pull the thing apart and get it sealed up solid. Besides that, everything else is perfect

If you have the tablet in the dock the tablet battery will continue to charge (from the dock) and remain at 100% until the dock battery runs out. Once it can no longer charge from the dock the tablet battery will start to run down.

I left my tablet docked all day yesterday. Before bedtime, I noticed that the tablet battery was at 97% and the dock still had 10%.

I charged my TF + dock last night. This morning, I noticed the dock's battery was recharged to 100%, but the tablet's battery was still at 97%.

Right now, the dock is at 84% and the tablet is still at 97%.

Something allows the tablet battery to lose some juice - although, not much.
