I'm intending to take an international trip in September, and for one reason and another I'm thinking I should take a phone that I don't mind losing. The things I need to do are: stay in touch with my house/pet sitter and my family at home; use Maps to navigate a city; take photos that I won't lose if I lose the phone. If times were slightly different I'd just pay the extra to ATT like I did two years ago when I traveled, it was very convenient, but this time I don't know if I want to take the chance.

Any thoughts on an appropriate phone to do the things I need to do, without installing social media? I guess it would be a prepaid phone that could also take an eSIM so things would be as seamless as possible. Last time I traveled, I had to call someone to fetch me from the train upon my return because I could not get an Uber, so there's that too. Looking at older model Samsung A phones on eBay at the moment....

I'm not 100% sure; if I could get a refurb Pixel 6 Pro on a reliable marketplace, I'd be delighted as I have a 9 Pro but still miss my 6. There are several things I don't love about the 9. Is Woot a good place to buy these things? I've never shopped Woot...

I've had good experiences buying from Woot. Maybe you could find an older Galaxy A series phone, like an A54, which would probably be pretty cheap these days.
