Do to my job I am required to keep my phone on vibrate. As most are aware the Driod Eris has a very weak vibrate, so I rarely feel it. The problem I have is the phone continuously picks up a call while in my pocket. Is there any way of fixing this problem? Maybe by pressing one of the hard buttons?

The recent OTA update made the lock screen less sensitive. I don't think there is much more that can be done about it.

Someone please prove me wrong, because I'd like to know if this can be improved too.

Possible Soleution:

Enable the Lock pattern feature

Settings > Security > Set Unlock Pattern (then set your pattern)

Now put a check next to: Require Pattern

That will prevent the phone from being used without swiping your pattern first, preventing the "butt/pocket" calling. Not sure if this prevents picking up calls though?

The vibrate is VERY weak. I've missed many calls as a result. If it's in my holster I don't feel a thing, so I keep it out on my desk at work so I can try to at least be aware of the call. Any chance that the vibrate strength is something that can be fixed with an OTA, or is it perhaps just a trade-off for the smaller size?

IzelTokatl,

Unfortunately your good idea with the lock pattern did not prevent the erroneous picking up calls. It did stop the butt calling as you thought.

This would have been a perfect solution if the screen needed the lock pattern but all you had to do was press the hard button (lower left to track ball) when a call came in.

I have not heard much about this problem and am hopping they are working on a reasonable solution. I work with sensitive information and to have the wrong person listen in on a conversation could be severe.

Are others having this problem?

only other solution I can think of is don't leave it in your pocket. I always have mine on my desk. alternatively you can buy a case for it, or a holster that should resolve the issue of accidental pushing the talk.

I will look in to buying a case but do not like wearing a holster.

If they have a case that resolves this problem I will still be some what disappointed due to I already purchased one with the open screen. Hopefully they have one that does not expose the touch screen but allows you to see incoming calls.
