Already pre-ordered through Google. But I was wondering if anyone has purchased a google phone in the past and used Amazon? What are the advantages? Disadvantages?

TIA

Woooo!

I would imagine the return period when using Amazon would be all you get. I guess you'll have an extended return period through Jan 31st, but after that I'd say you're on your own if something happens. I always get mine directly from Google. And I'm getting impatient.

I'd go with Amazon. If you have Prime, free returns and UNLIKE Google, no restocking fee.

I was curious, so I chatted with Google. They said I would get the same warranty if I bought from Amazon. Good to know

Yeah I bought Pixel 2xl from Argos last year and when it had microphone issues Google replaced it for me under warranty. I just had to send my proof of purchase with the phone i sent back to them. Within one week we had a replacement phone for my daughter. She loves her 2xl and has no intention of replacing it until it dies.

You might have a warranty issue buying through Amazon. I'm not saying you will, but who knows? I know that if you buy from Google, either the phone works during the covered period, they get it working, or they replace the phone. (I had 4 replacements sent to me for one problem - when we finally fixed the original problem, they had no issue with having sent me 4 phones that were returned to them. [The last one was just refused - I never touched it, the carrier just scanned it as "refused".])

(Google's repair policy is one reason I'm sticking with Google.)

I think if you’re buying from Amazon, where they’re officially the seller as the Authorized Retailer or if Google is selling through Amazon platform then you’re covered.
