Need some advice here my current and still working tab is the Xoom..
I'm wondering if I should get this tab or wait for the possible tab s3 Samsung Xoom battery starting to go and some apps ... well you get it Xoom getting tired

I had a Xoom from when they first came out until about six months ago.
I kept it that long for one reason - it was a VERY quality built device.
I had rooted and overclocked it but you can only do so much with dated hardware.
I bought a Nexus 9 and quickly returned it because of its build quality.
I bought (and still have) a Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
It's a powerful device with great features.
However, compared to the Xoom build quality it's not even in the race.
I bought a Pixel C about a month ago for one reason. Not that it was more powerful than the Tab S (though it is) but because it is the best built Android tablet I have ever seen, perhaps as well built as ANY tablet as I've seen.
If you like the Xoom because of its quality you will NOT be satisfied with a Samsung tablet.

I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything. That said, they should be announcing the new devices in a couple months....might be worth seeing whats coming up before jumping the gun.

I'm currently facing your dilemma.. the price is just really hard to justify right now, especially with the Google Play Store coming to Chromebooks. Unfortunately the secondary market isn't kind either as they're still in demand used. Hopefully Google drops the price soon.

I love the Pixel C- its a fantastic device all around. I had a Samsung Galaxy Tab S, and they just abandoned it after one upgrade-went from Kitkat to Lollipop and that was it. After paying for an expensive tablet, I expected better from Samsung. As such, I wont buy another one.
The Pixel C is also updated monthly to fix bugs, security plugs, etc. I think its outstanding.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger for the Pixel C for exactly the same reasons you did.....but
I'm wondering if I should wait for the next generation google pixel c (if there is one).
And also.......I like the aspect ratio of my Tab S 10.5 for watching movies.
Is the Pixel C the same aspect ratio?

There's been reports on Sammobile recently that some Tab S versions in Asia have started receiving M, so there may be hope yet.

My Tab S is updated to M. Has been probably for over a month. It is also a great Tablet with a gorgeous screen.

The Yoga Book is out this week, could be worth a look. I'd swap my Pixel C for it in a heartbeat.

My Nexus 10 is almost 4 years old and is showing its age, though it's far from unusable. I'd hoped Google would come out with a new 10" tab this fall, but no. Would anyone suggest still getting the Pixel C at a year of age?

I had the Xoom, Nexus 10, and the Pixel C. It is a great tablet and really wonderful to use. I certainly wouldn't suggest you hold off on it for any reason. I would agree with a previous poster though about looking at the Yoga Book if a keyboard and touchpad was of interest to you. The Pixel hardware is still better then pretty much anything else you can get right now and perfect for split screen use.

Thanks. I'll probably go ahead. I would use it just like my Nexus 10, reading digital publications, watching movies, etc. The only work/productivity related activity I use it for is access to PDF documents I keep on Google Drive. Otherwise I prefer my 15" laptop for portable work activities. The Yoga Book screen is too small for that, even if I were able to get used to the touch panel keyboard.

I see you said you "had" the Pixel C (in addition to the Xoom and Nexus 10) -- you no longer do? If so, what are you using now?

I should say had the Xoom and still have the Nexus 10 and the Pixel C. If it wasn't for Google ending support for the N10 I probably would have never upgraded.

The screen size is something to get use to, but with the high res of the display I actually like doing some productivity work on the smaller screens. I don't have the Yoga book, but do have the Google leather filo keyboard for my pixel. It isn't like a full size keyboard, but pretty great for what it is.

I've the magnetic keyboard for my Pixel which in theory should be really good but it has never worked properly (double spaces), so I just type on the on-screen keyboard now and use that as a stand if I'm watching something.
