I’m gonna be that guy.. starting to wonder if I made the right decision and if this phone goes back.

Mine finally arrived yesterday - and I’ve been looking forward to it for days. Literally waiting.

Coming from an iPhone 13 Pro but as a former Samsung lover and frustrated iPhone owner.

And it’s the simple things that are just getting to me - Android related more than Samsung:

- I plugged my phone into my car this morning and fired up Android Auto.. couldn’t find TuneIn Radio to stream a radio station I listen to ALL the time (which I normally just fire up by hitting the ‘favorites’ tab on Apple CarPlay). Told Google Assistant to stream it and it said it was - but then nothing. Struggling to find a workaround here (I used an app called Global Player normally if TuneIn fails as it’s a Global station - but neither of them are on AA). Tried disconnecting my phone from CarPlay and just talking to GA normally, but same issue.

- Told my phone to make a WhatsApp audio call and was astounded that this STILL isn’t a thing! I use WhatsApp audio ALL the time. I have at least managed to get around this with Bixby, but it’s a bit of a crude solution. How can WhatsApp voice calls not be supported on Android but they are on iPhone which is way more closed down!?

The phone itself is beautiful - I got the white and it knocks spots off my iPhone in terms of design which just feels stale. But I’m definitely starting to feel a little ‘meh’ about it. Hoping that wears off.. Will give it a date or two.

Two days is way to soon for that. I'll let you know in 10 days. But so far its exactly what I expected.

The only unexpected thing that I really don't like is the vibration motor. I hardly ever feel it in my pocket at work. I wish they would not have changed the motor orientation.

My battery life is not great but I know that will correct itself over time or with a clean reset.

Yes totally agree with notification vibration

Did you use Tunein Radio before you connected to AA ...if not I would clear data on AA ..use TuneIn radio then reboot and start fresh with AA ..I don't use the app so I can't comment on it's availability..

Other option if above does not work ..

Scroll down to version in AA and hit it 10 times to enable developer settings ..then go to upper right corner dots menu find developer settings and enable allow from unknown sources

Yeah mine has a literal crumb underneath the camera lense. I don't know if someone was eating a sandwich or what when they put my phone together ugh. Sent it back today now to wait forever for another one. Pisses me off too bc the phone prices went up and you can't exchange you have to reorder.

I understand we all have opinions and personal quirks. But really? You're gonna send the phone back based on THOSE 2 things? You're probably used to those things are integral in your driving experience etc. But I definitely wouldn't base a keep or return decision on something like that IMO

Prices went up? I think there's still time left no ?

Not so much a regret but if your coming from a s20/note 20U/s21 this isn't special in anyway.

I know devices don't change as much these days from year to year but this is the first time I really felt "meh" when I finished setting up my device.

I just found out that there's no way to have multiple users on S22, a feature I use every day on my OnePlus. I didn't even remotely consider this was going to be a missing feature. Total buyer's remorse, might have to send it back, unless it's something that is no longer on other Android phones either. Anyone know if it's still in Android 12 on Pixel or OnePlus?

I only do because of the size. The 22+ may be a better fit so I ordered one to try before the preorder goodies go away. I wish they had left the design somewhat closer to the others instead of going full Note with it.

Have you tried Kids' mode? That might be a solution.

I like the Note 9 better but soon no more updates so it's time. Of what is available in Android this phone (s22 ultra) is about the best isn't it?

The Whatsapp audio is a big thing for me. I drive a lot and I spend a lot of time having to make and receive a number of international calls as I drive. I assumed that the open nature of Google would allow you to make and recieve calls on a third party since Apple does and Google is way more open. I'm shocked this hasn't been implemented.

I don't know.. I'm on the fence. But I'm just starting to think that is not for me

Just take it back. If those things are that big of a deal, don't try to make it work. I would be curious to know why you wanted an Android device...you have an iPhone 13 Pro.

As far as I know, this has never been a feature on the Galaxy phone.

That is so weird. It's incredibly useful. I have never owned a Samsung phone, but since it was part of Android, at least in Android 10, I just assumed they had it.

Don't know why they'd remove it.

Also, this Bixby cr**p is incredibly annoying. Feel like I might return it just because of that.

The S22's Secure Folder feature might (or might not) offer an alternative way to give you the separation you need.

I'm not so much after the security, as the complete separation of experience - I don't want personal notifications when I'm at work, or work notifications when I'm off, for example. And I don't want a whole bunch of work apps in my non-work environment.

I'll look into your suggestion and the "kids mode" someone mentioned above.
