Buying a G3 Tomorrow...

I have. My M8 was not good for a solid week, and then it was like HTC flipped a switch. No update just went from meh life to wow!!!

Improvements to battery life over the first few days with new phones, yes....but the poster's, and yours, seem to be incredible improvements! That I haven't heard of.

I've read that Lithium Ion batteries don't normally need conditioning - unless they've been stored empty for a long time. In which case they should be charged and drained several times to get optimal performance. In any case, i am relieved about that.

Being still on the fence, i did go back to t-mobile to look at the S5 one more time. It's a tough call... I really like that phone, but it doesn't feel any smaller in the hand really - it's so negligible. The screen does seem to pop out more... anyhow, I didn't trade in.

I think the solution for me will be a less bulky case. When I hold the G3 uncased in my hand, it's perfect. The bodyglove adds those square side bumpers all around which kills the nice feeling of the phone.

So I think I just need to find the awesome case and I am done.

On day 3 with the phone and the battery has definitely improved. In fact it's pretty extraordinary. Love this phone and so glad to have moved on from Apple. Can anyone recommend a good widget app? Don't like the selection,on beautiful widgets and read HD widgets drains the battery.

I've been using HD Widgets for a long (over a year on two different devices) and I've never had a problem with it draining the battery. I have two separate widgets on my home screen from HD widgets:

The date/time and the weekly forecast

You can adjust the settings in HD widgets so that the widgets never update while phone screen is off. So date and time will only change when you wake the phone, and the weather only updates manually. Looking through my list of apps and their battery consumption right now I don't see HD widgets, meaning less then 1% of my current battery use is HD Widgets. The only time I've ever seen it effect the battery is when you are playing with the settings of the app for an extended period of time, which is normal with any app.

I agree about the case. I ordered spigen slim armor and it doesn't add much bulk but what it did was to much for me. I went back to a basic thin tpu case from Verizon. Without a case feels the best but I've already dropped it once..

Yep.... I love the feel of it, but it is a slippery little bugger and I dropped it a couple of times.... I went with the Spigen Ultra case instead, which is a fair amount smaller than the Armor case. Yeah, it probably won't give me much in terms of impact protection, but it is certainly more secure in my hand or in my pocket. So it gives me a little scuff and drop protection and I really don't notice any added bulk whatsoever.
