Buying a Galaxy Nexus from Play Store to use in Ireland

I posed this question in another thread and was reassured that if I did buy my niece a Galaxy Nexus from the Play Store it would indeed work when she goes back home to Ireland.

I have a few questions and am hoping you guys can help me with.

1) When I buy the phone I would need to get her a Straight Talk sim card ?, as it is a new phone would ST populate a # for the device?

2) What happens then to that # when she goes back to Ireland?, cell phone numbers there of course are different

Example

082 ? Paging services (Eirpage)
083 ? 3 Ireland
085 ? Meteor / eircom Mobile (MVNO)
086 ? O2 Ireland (formerly Esat Digifone)
087 ? Vodafone Ireland

So, when she goes home she can just buy a similar sim card to ST and again a new # will be populated or can she transfer her current vodafone # to the Nexus

thanks for all the help.

Conor

Unlocked GSM she should just be able to pop in a local SIM card and away she goes.

At least in the UK that's how it goes...
