I'm eyeing up the Idol 3 - I've currently got an iPhone 6 Plus but I've become bored of crashing, lag and various other little niggles.

I like the Idol 3, I've owned a few Alcatel Droids before and for the money they've always provided a good experience (I had that Alcatel that looked like the Palm Pre #vintage).

I enjoyed the novelty of a 5.5 inch screen however the body of the iPhone is just too big for me, I don't have little hands but I just don't enjoy it. The specs of the 5.5 Idol 3 are attractive but size wise how does it compare to the 6+?

Also which would you recommend the Idol 4.7 or 5.5? I just like the sound of a smaller device. What are you experiences?

The 5.5" Idol 3 is not a small device, but it's not as big as iPhone 6+. It's almost quarter of an inch shorter and slightly narrower. If you've seen OnePlus One in person, the Idol 3 is pretty much the same size. The 4.7" Idol 3 is much smaller. About the same size as original Moto X, but thinner and a bit taller.

I've been using the 5.5" Idol 3 as my daily driver for over a month and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a very good Android phone for less than $300. The Idol 3 has a big high quality screen, reversible UI, double tap to sleep and wake, excellent front facing speakers, all day battery life, good camera and micro SD slot. Also runs near stock Android.

If you like the size I'd go with the 5.5 over the 4.7 due to the bigger/higher resolution screen and better battery life.

Agree with above, for the price the 5.5" model is great. Has an excellent screen, excellent front firing speakers and basically stock android. I'm getting 2 day battery life with just over 5 hours screen time.
