Buying the Edge version: are you doing it for the looks or function?

As the title says, for those of you planning on buying the Edge version are you doing it for the looks or the added functionality?

I've read many posts complaining about the limited use of the edge panel and that the design is just a gimmick. True that it would be nice to be able to put your favorite or most often used apps there but frankly, I would probably still buy it for the looks alone even if there were no functionality at all. Am I being too superficial? In my opinion, the functionality it does come with is just an added value.

Having said that, do you think Samsung or third-party developers will be able to add features on the edge panel? If so, add your ideas in your comments.

Well, to be fair there is frequent contacts, time/weather display, and caller ID color notification which are somewhat useful even if the whole concept is gimmicky. I just hope it won't be limited to that but even if it is I wouldn't regret paying the extra dollars for the appearance.

A little bit of both. I think the frequent contacts thing will be helpful and the color caller ID will too. I really like the way it looks though, especially that green one.
