Bye Bye EVO 3D

And hello Samsung Galaxy S III I will be getting my new phone Saturday. The EVO 3D and I had a great run, but it just has basically stopped working for me as none of the bottom 3 (Apps, Phone, Personalize) do not work at all, even after a factory reset! So it's been nice EVO 3D, but I cannot wait to get my Galaxy S III. I have chosen this over the EVO 4G LTE bc the Sprint guy said the Galaxy S III is hands down the best phone. So I am very much excited!!

You should have stayed with HTC. My 3D has been nothing less than superb for 7 months now. You should have rooted then all factory issues go away.

That's just the start of things, it gets worse data connectivity wise which was persistant in all three of the galaxy s phones, Samsung sucks when it comes to its GPS, and its radios.

I had the Nexus S for two weeks before I got sick of the connection issues to the tower. When I got the 3D it was a billion times better. Wasn't sure if this was a Nexus S deal or a Samsung deal, either way it put me off.

This is the first time I'd heard of a rep actually telling the truth.

Then if you're a heavy user the galaxy s 3 is much better because with heavy usage you'll get about 10 hours of battery life then the phone turns into an expensive paperweight.

If you keep a charger nearby all day, you'll be fine but otherwise I wouldn't recommend the evo over the gs3. But I do recommend it over every other phone out there

You made the right choice. I have had my GS3 for a week now coming from the 3D. The GS3 is a much better phone. So far the phone runs good. Battery life is great. Just make sure you don't have Dropbox running in the background. GPS works great. The only downside I've seen is Sprint's network sucks right now.

I had fun with the evo and evo3d both were great phones, but I have gotten bored with HTC sense and am ready for a new experience with touchwiz, and ICS. I will be getting my GS3 soon.

Sounds like you were having hardware problems. I'm sure you could have gotten a free replacement.

No offense, but saying that you get 30 hours per charge doesn't really say much without going into a little more detail of what your typical usage is

Example: My EVO 3D happily gave me 2 full days (over 48 hours) on wifi during day-time, with 3 Email accounts syncing (push mail), if I kept my screen usage low (1-2 hours or so). If I switched to 3g, and increased my screen usage to 4 hours or so, my battery consumption increased and I had to charge at the end of the day.

Exactly my point...
Usage is important when discussing battery life (30 hours per charge - what was the usage? did the phone even get used? Or was it on standby all the time?)

Minimal usage would result in "excellent" battery life. My average usage ends up with about 4 hours of screen ON time every day (games, Email, browsing, etc), combined with about an hour or so of actual 'talk' time with screen off.
