Since 2007. I was on iPhone, and this year decided to switch on Android, bought N4 and it is a no doubt for me the best phone now.
But, all things I did with my N4 can do iPhone too, and I decided to switch back, bought iP5 and thats it.

Here are my thoughts about Android. I still think that Jelly Bean 4.2.2 is way more advanced OS than iOS. I enjoyed using it, and have nothing to complain about. Maybe I can complain about buttons on nexus 4, little bit ''cheap'' feeling when pressing them, maybe it's glass on back makes me feel very caring not to break it. But thats LG problem not android. I never rooted my N4, and put some ROM on it, because I kinda don't wanna to customize it so much. You can do so much things on android, impressive. But after 5 months on android, I realized that I want simplicity, nothing else. And I must say iP5 looks good, no glass on back thanks god.

So, my conclusion is, android is way better and advanced than iOS, but iOS is simple, and for some, that is an advantage.

I enjoyed beeing here and posting, who knows, maybe KLP and N5 will bring me back, I am looking forward to see what is the future of Android.

Cheers guys ;)

Good luck on the iPhone forums :)

I seriously doubt it. You said the appeal of the iPhone is it is simple. Therefore you are not looking for more options...if anything you are looking for less. It is unlikely that KLP or the Nexus 5 will have fewer options.

That being said, I still don't know why you would go to the iPhone 5. All the stuff the iPhone 5 does Android will do just as well. All you have to do is start disabling options.

He is into IOS more than android. Who cares. Everyone likes what they like. Good luck to him. IOS 7 looks appealing and I'm sure he will like it. I just want some damn KLP already. Just a few more months...

Well, iOS is more simplier than Android for me, not saying that android is complicated, just iOS has less features, and android has a LOT of features that I dont need..iOS feels simple, like it is made for retards :D (joke)

These kind of threads always remind me of the great writings of Umberto Ecco. Still works with Android vs IOS to some extent too. LOL

"The fact is that the world is divided between users of the Macintosh computer and users of MS-DOS compatible computers. I am firmly of the opinion that the Macintosh is Catholic and that DOS is Protestant. Indeed, the Macintosh is counter-reformist and has been influenced by the ratio studiorum of the Jesuits. It is cheerful, friendly, conciliatory; it tells the faithful how they must proceed step by step to reach -- if not the kingdom of Heaven -- the moment in which their document is printed. It is catechistic: The essence of revelation is dealt with via simple formulae and sumptuous icons. Everyone has a right to salvation.

DOS is Protestant, or even Calvinistic. It allows free interpretation of scripture, demands difficult personal decisions, imposes a subtle hermeneutics upon the user, and takes for granted the idea that not all can achieve salvation. To make the system work you need to interpret the program yourself: Far away from the baroque community of revelers, the user is closed within the loneliness of his own inner torment."

LOL

How do you get simpler than pages of icons and folders? You couldn't even make iOS, as it is now, confusing if you tried.

Disagree with you on that one.

Have fun, Apple does make nice looking phones.
For the post about how ios is simpler the main argument I hear is "even down to calling, the phone is a phone anyone knows how to use it" I have to tell them its a phone on android too.
Anywho, I think its just how its set out people view.

After Apple's Keynote on Monday, aren't you basically going back to Android anyways?

While I haven't owned an iphone or really sat down and used one (other than my just playing around for a couple of mins) I did recently purchase a Mac Mini after being on Windows 7 for my whole life. That is one thing I can say about using mac OS, it does feel simple. I tried out Linux as an alternative but found it really overkill and full of features I wouldn't have used either haha

That being said, enjoy your iphone! For me, I think I will stick to my N4 despite owning a Mac now. Come back soon :p

Disagree with you on that one.

Want to run an app? Click on it. (same as ios)
Want to run your hotspot? Pull down and tap the icon (ios it's settings, general, cellular data, personal hotspot)
Want to adjust brightness? Pull down and tap (ios is settings, brightness, then adjust)

What's simpler than that?

Yes Android has options.

If you don't want to use them guess what?

YOU DON'T USE THEM!
My mother has an Android and she never uses the options, everything is as it is out the box except one thing - the keyboard!

She hates the ios keyboard (for very good reason, that thing SUCKS!)

THEN she kept asking me "how do you turn on the wifi?" and "somebody told me I can put it on airplane mode and still use the alarm, how do i do that?"

She switched to Android (gs3) and she hasn't had a single problem.

Pull down, tap.

So again, how is ios simpler?

Pages of icons. That's... It...

One button. Not four, or three, or two.

There is literally nothing to it, your the first person I've ever heard even attempt to dispute that.

Your long winded defense doesn't change that, and my mother uses Android, too. Everything about iOS is designed for simplicity and beginners, and it shows.

Want to run an app? Click on it. (same as ios)

Pull down, tap.

1) Your first instruction is already more difficult, as in Android icons may be on a separate screen or in the app drawer. iOS does not have an app drawer. It has, as stated, pages of icons.

2) You consistently referenc TouchWiz's drop down menu, but that is not a consistent feature across Android, so your point is moot.

"Pull down, tap" is not always the answer, which is another point in iOS's favor in that it's always consistent.

iPhone folks tend to claim Android is complicated while iOS is simple. The reality is that Android is only as complicated as the user makes it.

You can use Android just like how you would use iOS. But you can?t use iOS just like how you would use Android.

So it boggles my mind why anyone would switch BACK to iOS after being in Jelly Bean heaven. But hey, it?s your decision and you?re the one who has to live with it.

And you guys who are arguing about which OS has the easier steps to toggle stuff, stop.
It?s apples vs oranges. Different OS has different ways to do things. That?s obvious enough.

However, you have options in Android where you don?t in iOS in terms of toggles.
Let?s use toggling wifi as an example:
In iOS, you need to launch the Settings app.
In Android, you can do the same. OR you can use a toggle widget. OR you can use the Quick Settings Panel. OR you can have it toggle automatically based on time/location/etc with apps like Tasker. OR you can use NFC tags. OR whatever. You get the picture.

You guys are phone nerds, of course you like Android. The average person like how the iPhone just plain works the second you turn it on.

As an iPhone user who plays with Android devices every day, I really don?t see the increased difficulty with Android. Android is not more difficult to use it only offers more options. The basic functions are almost the same. It is like using Windows 8 and OSX, they are different, but neither is necessarily more difficult but one offers more apparent freedom. MY wife is not by any means a tech head, and she uses an Android phone and knows how to use it rather well. Of course she doesn?t install ROMs, but for normal day to day use her Android phone is as easy to use as my iPhone (but she dislikes iOS very much). Her reasons aren?t because she wants to root and theme it, she says on iOS she cannot put her icons where she wants themes, there are no widgets and she likes using Google services and on Android they are more seamless. Point is she is a normal user who find Android to be a normal easy to use platform.

Good luck
