It used to be easier back in the day when you could just wipe the cache of the entire partition. Now you have to specifically go into each app.
Best thing I've found is routinely pulling up my app list in size order, going from the largest to smallest, and emptying cache from each until it didn't seem to matter.
I really miss the old days of that one tap cache clean of every single app on my device.
I've been doing exactly like you for the last several years and now on my P6P. Takes time but just part of the phone upkeep process.

I've used the built in Files by Google to "clear cache" and it's always just a few megabytes, no matter how many gigs are tied up in all my apps' caches, so I have no idea what it's actually doing.
Lol. I found it yesterday and have been running it since! The free version does a nice job. What additional features does the pay version have? TIAWell, I just found one I'll be purchasing shortly after trying it out, to support the developer. It does exactly what it says and you can watch the app open the storage and cache of each app and clear the cache. I was actually shocked it worked so well. It can also be automated so I won't have to spend time manually doing it all the time like I've done for years. Cleared up 2.5GB in a fraction of the time it takes me to manually do it. I verified the caches were cleared in some of my most cache heavy apps.

Went to the pro version and besides loosing the adds, the auto clean and turbo we're quick and excellent!I think the paid removes ads when using turbo mode but not sure. For really good apps, I'll always pay the developer. I've probably spent close to $200 over the years for apps.
