Calendar causing battery drain?

Hey everyone, I got my Nexus 7 at Christmas and it's been running great until a couple of days ago. I noticed the battery was draining unusually quick. For example, I fully charged the Nexus last night and used it briefly before bed. I woke up this morning (maybe 6-7 hours later) and it was down to 4%. It's NEVER behaved like this.

I looked at the battery section in the settings and it showed the #1 app using the most processor was Calendar. I have no idea why that would be. I haven't done anything new with the Calendar and haven't installed any apps that might use it (that I know of).

Has anyone experienced this or know what my next step might be? Is there a battery app that might give me more information than the battery section of the settings menu?

Thanks! I'm anxious to have my Nexus back to normal.

Here's a screen shot I took.

I'm not sure why your calendar app is so active, but probably just restarting your N7 will get it back to normal.

So you don't have a calendar widget on one of your home screens? I would certainly remove such in this instance. Also, make sure calendar sync is disabled.

No I don't have a calendar widget on my screen. I'll take a look at the sync settings. Thanks

I ve the same issue. Fully recharged nexus 7 down to 30% in 6 hours 20% used by media, 20% used by calendar

If you don't need Calendar you can disable it and see if things goes better.. If you prefer you can also try first to delete data and cache so that Calendar should be reset down..

I have the same thing but it is because I have installed the calendar widget that has the same exact icon in the posts above. This is the app that shows the date each day in the icon.

Be careful what apps you install. I don't install too many at a time in case something starts working wrong or affecting the battery. It's easy to fix something like this if you know what app you installed is doing it.

I have too many pictures and other things on my Nexus 7 to just do a factory reset now.

Two words : Carbon backup. It'll save all your stuff, even app settings and game progress.
