Calendar entry won't delete

I entered an item on the calendar. I delete it and all appears OK. After turning my Droid 2 off and then back on the entry re-appears. Any thoughts on how to get rid of it?

If your calendar is synced with something, it may not delete properly on the server and the entry is pushed back to the phone on refresh.
