calendar hours display

How can I reduce the range of daily hours displayed by the calendar? My Blackberry had a tiny display, but could show the entire day vertically (week display) by limiting the number of hours. My DX takes two vertical pages to do the same, sometimes I don't see an appointment.

Have you tried the "Agenda" view? I don't use the stock calendar but have tried both Pocket Informant & Calengoo. I prefer Calengoo because you can see 12 hours in the day view. However, I normally use the Agenda view or the week view to quickly see appointments.
