Calendar item size/span?

I've notice that certain items on my calendar look like different time spans/sizes. For instance, I have two 45min. appts on my calendar but one is twice the length of the other when you are looking at the week view. If you open up the item, the time span is correct.

Any hints on what might be causing that? It throws me off to see things on my calendar that look several hours long when they are much shorter.
