Calendar: Meeting Notice question

My husband and I are both geeks and both have multiple devices: Droid X (personal) and blackberry (work). We use our calendars to keep our schedules in synch (both personal and work). So here is what I'm seeing:

* Schedule a meeting on the Droid X calendar and send it to my husband (personal) and my work. We both receive a message with an attachment "not supported calendar message.ics." My husband says he can't open the meeting on his Droid (but that might be user error ) and I definitely can't open it on my blackberry. I open Outlook on my computer and then have to open the attachment to accept the meeting notice.
* Schedule a meeting from Outlook and send it to myself (personal). I receive a message containing the meeting information and a View Meeting option. Selecting View Meeting allows me to accept/decline the meeting.

I'm not thrilled with the behavior when I schedule a meeting from the Droid. Is this normal droid behavior? Am I missing a setting somewhere? BTW: Both of our personal accounts use exchange sync.

Thanks in advance!

Interesting. I haven't tried looking at my Outlook inbox, but I just sent a test meeting invite from my Droid X to my work account, and the invite showed up on my Blackberry. There is an attachment that cannot be opened, but the e-mail is still your typical meeting invite, including with the reminder. There is the option to accept, decline, or mark tentative. I'll have to check out the way it comes into my Outlook inbox and calendar at work tomorrow. I don't use Outlook for personal use.

Seems a little odd that your husband cannot open a meeting invite from a Droid X on his Droid X. I just sent a meeting invite from my Google Apps account to my Gmail account. The invite showed up almost immediately in my email.

I am not versed on Exchange sync, so I cannot tell if that has something to do with your issue.

PM me if you'd like me to send you a test calendar invite from my X.

set up a google calendar, then go into the settings and give him rights to it.
once done go on both your phones and setup the calendar you created.
go into your google account on the phone and set the cal's to sync.
then if he or you make a change/update it will show up on both the phones.
(cant help with the blackberry)
