Calendar Notifications not working

I have a bunch of calendars synced to my TB for different things, meetings, FB birthday, NYC parking schedule.... On my Storm, I had it set so that I would be notified at a certain time, so when i woke up, I would see the meetings for the day, whos birthday it was, and it the parking laws were suspended for that day. I have my calender set up for notification bar alerts, but I have yet to see anything come up... How do I set this up correctly?

The only way I know to set a reminder is during the act of making a "New Event". You can select anywhere from 1 minute to 1 week in advance of the appointment. You can also set the default reminder time (I think the default was 10 minutes - but I changed mine to 15 minutes). I know of no way to put in a specific clock time for the event notifications to appear for everything on that day.
