While in Google Calendar, pressing the + button gives us only 2 choices: Task -or- Event. I know that if I choose Event, I can change its color to reflect what type of Event is being made; but I think it would be better to give use more choices where the color is already defined:

Anniversary, Birthday, Appointment, Holiday, etc.

Is there a better calendar for Android that can do this, as well as remove holidays I don't care to see?

I don't use it myself, but I have it on good authority (from tech journalist JR Raphael) that Business Calendar 2 is powerful and versatile.

You can always uncheck your Holidays system calendar. Or are you saying that you want to edit which holidays appear in the Holidays calendar?

Thanks, I'll look into Business Calendar 2.

Yes, I'd like to choose which Holidays I see.
As it is right now, Google Calendar has 3 settings:
1. Holidays Off
So no Holidays listed at all.

2. US Holidays (*Public & Other Holidays*)
All major, presidential, religious, race-related & others (Daylight Savings, Tax Day, Women's Month, Pride Month).

3. US Holidays (*Public Holidays Only*)
A few (not all) major, presidential, religious & race-related; no Daylight Savings, Tax Day, Women's Month, Pride Month

I just want all the major & presidential Holidays. I don't need/want any religious or race-related Holidays.

I would suggest just creating your own calendar for the holidays that are important to you, instead of relying on any system calendar.
