I'm going to be driving down the coast from San Francisco to San Diego via CA-1, any experience with reception along the way would be appreciated. Any chance of 4G ?

Thanks,

Pat

I am jealous that is an awesome drive, I have done it several times. Sorry, did not have a 4G phone when I've made those trips.

I hit 4G as soon as I enter the Rancho Cucamonga area all the way south.

san Francisco, la, and sd have 4g for sure. Other smaller cities, i am not sure, you can check the map.

You'll find 4G in the Santa Barbara area and you might luck out with a 4G signal in the Ventura/Oxnard area (they're currently testing it there). Beautiful drive, by the way.

You should get 4G through San Jose all the way down through Monterey area.

Rancho chucamonga!

4G is spotty along highway one. My service route has me up n down that stretch on a good day. Im trying to keep my eyes on the road opposed to on my screen. Navigation doesn't cut out but I know that 4g does. But there's always faithful 3g :D

Just to follow up for those keeping score. We had decent coverage until somewhere south of Carmel, then we lost all phone coverage until just north of San Simeon and a spot around Big Sur. Lost signal again coming out of San Simeon until around San Luis Obispo. I gave up on streaming SiriusXM :( It was a nice enough trip, and the SG3 performed admirably when it had signal.
