California local tax????

I picked up anew phone yesterday and noticed there are 2 lines for tax. First line is the normal state tax of 8.25%, but there was a second line called the CA Local sales tax, this was about another 2%. I have never seen this second tax line before. Anyone else seen it or have any clue what it is for?

The tax depends on where you live/bought it. LA has a higher sales than surrounding cities. I don't have an extra tax but San Bernardino does.
It varies from city to city.
