Call issue on spkr phone: noise cancellation?

I just tested this out. While on a phone call with someone and you have them on speaker, at times they are not able to hear what you are saying while they are speaking at the same time. I think this is cause the noise cancellation, the mic is picking up noise (the other callers voice) from the speaker phone and then mutes out your mic to talk into. Call your cell from a different phone, put your phone on speaker start rambling in the one phone then quickly say something into your cell; you have to be quick. I then put both phones up to my head and started talking, and on the other phone I could hear my voice cut in and out. This explains why ppl on the other line have me repeating things, and also they say "I cant hear you your cutting out."

Maybe even have someone call you put it on speaker tell them to talk and while their talking see if you can cut their conversation off by interrupting
them. Either A) they wont hear you briefly, or B) they'll hear you but your voice skips.

Let me know if anyone else has this, if not I have defective mics then. Earlier I tried that talking tom cat app, and that thing didnt even pick up anything I was saying.

There's a story on the main page of AC about HTC confirming the noise cancellation problem. Maybe it has something to do with your problem. Check it out HERE.

yep Ive been all over that. Unfortunately all the talk is about camcorder. Nothing has been said about calling people (speakerphone as well), voice recorder, voice apps, etc. and if noise cancellation would affect the phone across all areas. Or is it specifically just the camcorder

Here's hoping this and a couple more issues will be addressed in the updates cause I really love my phone.

Man, I wish I could have been a fly on the wall watching you doing that testing. Hahahaha.....

I have had some issues with my speakerphone too. My wife has said that she hears intermittant noise which she never heard on my incredible. It seems to come and go and it's only on speaker. I was wondering myself if it was something to do with all these microphones.

Lol I can send you the video recording, I think I left it recording while testing out the camcorder trying to replicate the issues. I was barking into the phone and everything, think my mother called psychiatric hospital on me already /:

Same thing here also. My incredible's speakerphone worked awesomely. When I'm on my tbolt's speakerphone everyone says they hear an echo of themselves when they speak. I don't hear the echo. Here is to hoping this is a software thing and not a hardware issue. I have posted this issue a couple of time in the threads but no one gives a reply. Need help here!

If your party hears echo the problem is AEC in your device.

AEC? Sorry, but what is that?

Anyways, I returned the phone for a new one and so far so good. The new one's speakerphone is working now. No echoes for the people on the other end.
