Coming from an iPhone, I think the call sound quality sucks. I hear a lot of distortion/static while the person on the line is talking to me. People said I sound fine on their end. Anyone else having this issue?

No, my sound quality is outstanding on both ends.

Try disabling the audio effects in the Sound settings. I turned all the audio effects off because I couldn't stand the random distortion when listening to music either via headphone or from the speaker. Beyond that, the call quality has been great for me. It's better than my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

I'm having similar issues--came from AT&T with a Motorola Atrix 2, which was great. Now my calls all sound choppy even with full bars. It was so bad I got a warranty replacement, but this one isn't much better. I generally only make calls from a couple locations (home and office), but with full bars, I'd think calls should sound good...?

Did the audio effects setting fix this for you? I tried it with little to no effect.

I'm hoping the JB update (which lists improvements for voice) helps.

UPDATE: I unchecked the Voice Privacy option, which helped. Still not perfect, but better than before.

Occasionally I hear what I can only describe as "tearing" when I'm on a call. It doesn't happen with everyone.
