Call to numbers with asterisk?

How make call to numbers with asterisk?

Let say i need to call 16655*2 but device start calling 16655. Any solutions?

Device: Nexus 5
OS: Android 4.2.2

Aren't asterisks supposed to be extensions? If so, you should add them as a 'pause', not an asterisk... I might be wrong though, I've never have to dial a number with an asterisk before.

On the dialer there are options in the lower right corner. The 3 dot menu. Add 2 sec pause and wait. Try one of those.

Why at all Android is trying to change all my entered numbers? I one old LG with Android 2.something and there is no problems with that.

Example - https://www.pilet.ee/cgi-bin/splususer/splususer.cgi?op=list_museum&piirkond_id=200 - we use numbers with asterisk for tickets etc.

Now i even try alternate Dialer (Dialer+) app. It did not help - this mean that it's not dialer problem.

Does your carrier support those calls? From what I've read the asterisks are either extensions (in which case the Pause should work if the number you're calling has a standard automated service) or IP Phone numbers, in which case, you should either be using a SIP service or your carrier should support IP Calling.

Two weeks ago with the same SIM card I had an old simple Samsung (not even smartphone) and there was no problem to call numbers with asterisk.
My colleague have 2yars old LG with Android 2.smt.. with the same carrier in the same package and he does not have this problem.
It must be device problem or wrong settings.

This is a serious problems for me also. I use numbers with asterisk to do simple mobile based banking transactions or buy public transportation tickets. You have your usual short number to call to and after an asterisk you have to add an identification code and then after a second asterisk you have to add a unique service code (e.g. we have different codes for 1 hour tickets or 1 week tickets etc.).

Example: 1111*5555555*222

What my nexus 5 does is that it simply calls 1111 which results in an error message from the service provider. Even if I add the 2 second pause and call 1111,5555555,222 then it still dials 1111 and the result is the same. I recently switched my Desire S where this was supported to a Nexus 5. Does anybody know if this is a known issue or should we report a bug to Google?
