Android Central Question

I was on a call with my friend, and had it on speaker. When I looked down at the phone, it said, "in a conference call with" and my friend's name. We were NOT on a conference call, and it did not name anyone else.

My phone is an LG G7, his is an iPhone. I tried calling my friend from another phone to do an actual conference call while we were on the line, but it did not say this after my friend merged the calls.

BACKGROUND: My friend and I were talking about a person of interest in a crime that has already been stalking my family. When I noticed that I was in a conference call, I told my friend, he said, "What?", and then my phone hung up immediately. Since we were talking for over an hour, it seems odd that it disconnected at that exact moment.

I know I am probably being paranoid, but is there any way this criminal could have been listening in on my conversation? And if not, why did it say this? Thanks!

I don’t think that you are being paranoid. Whether or not it is possible, I don’t know, but it would be wise to tell the police about it. They could if necessary ask the carrier to examine their records of calls made, leading to further investigations.
