This is supposed to be an option but it is not there on my Verizon S20 ultra. Is there something I am missing or did Verizon remove it. I used Smart Switch to move my data. Not sure if that would be an issue. Hopefully I can get this option back.

There are 2 pretty good 3rd party apps that bring this feature, Truecaller and Youmail. Also some carrier offer it on all there phone, example T-Mobile.

I'm sure Verizon removed that feature. They are famous for stuff like this.

The is an app called "call assistant app" that I was using on my Note 10+ and it was pretty cool.

They definitely removed it. Started on the S10 which the Verizon variant had it removed. One of the reason I go unlocked.

I don't have Verizon, but I thought they had their own version that was enabled by default.

This is the feature OP is referring too. You can also just download hiya in the play store which I've been using for years. Not as good as being integrated but still gets the job done.Screenshot_20200305-095618_Call%20settings.jpeg

They do, but to get most features others give for free you have to pay 3 dollars monthly. It's a money grab...

What a surprise ... We do these because we care about customers and to give them the best possible experience on the world's best network, it's not because of money. Believe us - Verizon PR

TBF it's not just them. I can't get over how TMo wants me to pay $4/month to get voicemail to text.

Highly recommend Youmail. Best call blocker I've ever used. Plus it's a better voicemail app and give you alot of greetings that you can use as well.

Thanks for the relies. i may give Youmail. i think i tried that years ago. i will have to give it another look.

Yes it was just Verizon as example !!

I remember when I first started using Android years ago it amazed me that voicemail to text wasn't automatically included. But I knew you were just using Verizon as an example. :)
